For freshmen starting Fall 2026
Freshmen starting in the fall are required to attend a one-day, in-person BBN Orientation on any one of these dates. The day’s program will last from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Eastern time.

First-time Freshmen students starting in the spring are required to attend a BBN Orientation on any one of these dates. The day’s program will last from approximately 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Eastern time and will take place in-person, on campus.

Students starting in Spring 2027 will be assessed a $25 orientation fee after their orientation on their spring tuition bill.

Additional Information and Fees
Any student not participating in orientation for their designated start term will need to complete late registration in the first week of classes (there is an additional $40 charge for late registration).
If you are unable to attend any of the above dates, please email orientation@uky.edu.
Freshmen beginning in fall 2026 are assessed the $125 orientation fee and $125 enrollment prepayment when registering for BBN Orientation.

In-person: The in-person programs will last from approximately 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Eastern time and will take place on campus.
Virtual: The virtual orientation is synchronous and takes place from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. ET. You will need to be available on a laptop or tablet for the duration of the program.

For readmitted students without transfer work
Readmitted students without transfer work will complete a self-paced, rolling online orientation.
Students must register for this orientation in myUK. You may disregard the placeholder date for this orientation, as this is a rolling, virtual orientation.
You will receive an email to your UK email address inviting you to your orientation course in Canvas. You will need to complete the modules in this Canvas course to fulfill your orientation requirements. This Canvas course contains information on how you will connect with your academic advisor and register for courses.
